The Economist published an article titled Why Americans pay more for lunch than Britons do, even when they are buying the same sandwich.
“According to data gathered by The Economist on the dozen Pret sandwiches that are most similar in the two countries, the American ones cost on average 74% more (see chart).”
Looking at only the menu of Pret A Manger is a skimpy data set, and I don’t think the article really answers the “why?” question posed in the headline, but still… quite stunning.
